Best captain and first mate

best captain and first mate I’ve ever been on a charter with. It can be kind of intimidating to go fishing with all guys as a woman but they made me feel super comfortable, didn’t talk down to anyone or act weirdly macho, just exceptionally friendly and fun and kind people who are also amazing fishermen!!! Thank you so much I can’t wait to come back.

Limited on salmon the first day

Awesome trip with Ty and Nick. Took my family out for 2 days and limited on salmon the first day and combo limit of salmon and rockfish the second day. Ty will get you on the fish for sure! Highly recommend for any new or experienced anglers. My kids loved it even more than I did.

One of the best deckhands on the North Coast

Captain Ty and Nick have taken me out several times. Captain Ty always puts us on the fish and Nick is one of the best deckhands on the North Coast.

Several times a year

I fish with Reel Obsession Sportfishing several times a year. Tyja and Nick always make for a great trip. Just fished with them last weekend with my son. Amazing!

Favorite charter experience

My group of 5 had an awesome time with Captain Ty and Nick. The atmosphere was relaxed yet professional and we caught some great fish! This was my favorite charter experience and will definitely be booking my next trip with Ty.

Always puts the group on fish

Captain Tyja always puts the group on fish! He's passionate about giving people the best trip every time! Deck hand Nick knows his business and is quick on his feet, works great with Ty and is super with kiddos! Can't say enough about this successful sportfishing crew!

That's going the extra mile

Ty and crew are a blast to fish with. I have fished with them 4-5 times. For halibut out of Richmond twice and did well both times. Also have gone crabbing with them twice, and one of those times we had a couple of hours to let the pots soak, so Ty said what the hell let’s go bottom fishing, got nothing else to do. So we got crab and bottom fish as a bonus. THATS going the extra mile.

Limit for the entire family

This was the best fishing experience I've ever had on a boat in the Bay Area. The captain and crew were easy-going and extremely knowledgeable, making me feel like I was fishing with close friends. They guided us to great spots, and we caught our limit for the entire family. The boat was clean and had a private bathroom, which made the trip even more comfortable and enjoyable for my wife and kids. I will definitely choose this boat for all my future fishing adventures. Thank you to the captain and crew for an unforgettable trip!

This man will put you on the fish

Captain Ty knows this particular part of the ocean real well and always makes trips interesting! If you're looking to get out on the water this man will put you on the fish, just make sure you got a hook in the water!

Exceeded expectations

Had an absolutely fantastic time fishing salmon with Tyja last week. I've fished off a variety of big party boats and other 6 pack charters in the past, but my two trips with Tyja so far have definitely exceeded expectations. Tyja knows this stretch of water so well that you can have confidence that if the fish are biting, he'll find them for you. His deckhand is knowledgeable, friendly and constantly working his tail off to give you the best experience. I found the boat to be totally comfortable even in choppy seas with 8 people on board. I'll definitely be fishing with Reel Obsession again soon.

Limited on cod and crab

Ty and Nick were great! My family and I went out this weekend and had a great time! We limited on cod and crab. Enjoyed some of our catch last night. We want to make this a yearly event with Ty and Nick. Nick cleaned a lot of fish for us and the crab ladies split and cooked our crab for us before we left. A wonderful experience!

You found them

For those unsure about who to book their trip with- search no longer. You found them. These guys know where the fish are. Captain Ty and Nick are knowledgeable, experienced, kind, and fun people. I have been on their boat many times, and we always have a blast. We've caught king salmon, halibut, crab, and rockfish/lingcod. Whether it's a guys/girls trip or a family trip (they are great with kids), you're going to have a great time. I can't recommend them enough.

Putting us on fish

I have fished with captain Ty many times. His deckhand Nick, along with Captain Ty, always keep it light and fun on the back deck. This results in a great time. They are excellent at putting in the work and putting us on fish! Highly recommend!

Super fishy guy

Tyja is a great captain. Super fishy guy and all around good dude. Been fishing with him since 2019 and it’s always a treat. Salmon, rockfish, halibut, tuna, he does it all

Stayed out longer

Captain and crew made the trip fun and got us on the fish! It was a tough bite the day we fished. He stayed out longer and trekked all over to make sure we found the fish. His good relations with other boats in the area made it easier to get us in the right area. He also helped other charters get on fish when we found them. A true sportsman making a great experience for us and others. Will go out again soon!
