About Captain Ty and Dragonfly

Born in Mendocino, over 20 years fishing the North Coast.

Captain Ty Taube grew up in Mendocino and has run the Northern California coast for more than twenty years. Based out of Sonoma County for the last fifteen, he guides Dragonfly full-time, following the ocean seasons from San Francisco Bay up through Fort Bragg.

Dragonfly is a 2005 Parker 28' Sport Cabin on twin Yamaha 250 HP engines, 33 feet overall with a 9 foot 6 beam. She carries a dry cabin, a working head, plenty of deck space, and a life raft and EPIRB aboard. She runs out of Richmond from April to June and Bodega Bay from July through December.

The gear is Cannon Optimum 10 downriggers, a large bait well, Furuno and Simrad electronics, custom Seeker downrigger rods for salmon and halibut, Shimano Trevala jigging rods for rockfish and lingcod, Seeker high speed trolling rods for tuna, Avet reels in both right and left hand, Penn International 50 wides for bluefin, and light tackle spinning gear, lures, jigs and bait.

Every trip includes the gear, the bait, and pack ice to keep your catch fresh. Filleting is free if you want it, and after a crab trip we cook and clean your crab at the dock.
